JOHN PHILLIPS

As a matter of Public record John Phillips, the creative force behind the legendary group, the Mamas and the Papas, suffered from drug addiction. A lesser known fact was that he worked for the well-being of of other addicts. His life-experiences negated the glamorous popular depiction of the rock star. Chris Campion in his upcoming biography of John Phillips highlights this aspect of John’s life so as not to sugar-coat the facts and really to highlight that besides John being a musical genius he had his feet on the ground about the horrors of addiction.
