Kenneth Carl Russ was born on March 19, 1951, the eldest child of Margaret and Jerald Russ at The Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, Illinois a suburb of Chicago. Kenneth spent his early childhood in New Jersey and Pennsylvania until the family moved to California in 1955. The family continued to grow ultimately reaching six children qualifying us for the $5 a month or three for $10 tuition discount at St Bruno School. Margaret’s volunteer work at the school more than made up for any discount and she truly was one of the nuns’ favorite mothers for this and by the fact she had received a large part of her early education from the same order of nuns who taught there, The Sisters of Mercy. After graduation Ken continued his education at Servite High School in Anaheim ,CA. For college, Ken received his Bachelor of Arts degree at UC Berkeley and then went to Brussels Belgium to experience life in Europe and earn his MD degree. After that he went to Baltimore Maryland to Sinai-John’s Hopkins university where he completed his residency training in Internal Medicine. While there he was able to enjoy the company of his aunt Charlotte and her wonderful family thereafter and for the next thirty years he was in solo practice in Palm Springs, CA where he remained in close contact with his family. Once the government in California ordered him to shelter in place, Ken transformed his practice to treating patients remotely. He and his Husband, Ty, continue until the time of this writing to maintain the practice in the State of Hawaii where they moved in February of 2021.
